Ellen is a medical student who became involved in a research project in her third year of University. She shares her experiences getting involved in scholarship activities at an early stage of her career and how it has helped her develop as a clinician.
Connor is a recently qualified doctor who has embraced research opportunities at university though an qualitative project and intercalated MPhil. Here he reflects on what he has learnt and how he hopes to apply the skills he has acquired in his future career.
Beth is an associate professor and medical statistician at the University of Southampton. Her work involves helping researchers design projects and interpret their results. She works closely with the Primary Care Research Department helping clinicians optimise their research study designs and here she tells us more about how she became involved in General Practice Scholarship.
Sara is a NIHR Clinical Lecturer at the University of Southampton having recently completed her PHD. She is also a NHS GP who works in a unique community based acute frailty unit in Oxfordshire. She tells us about her less traditional pathway into clinical research.
Nick is a GP Partner and clinical lead for primary care for the Thames Valley and South Midlands Clinical Research Network. He is also a RCGP clinical lead for research. Nick talks us through how he became involved in clinical trials and how he feels this benefits his clinical practice and his patients.
